OCD Facts
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder ususally known as OCD is common in many teenagers. OCD starts from an early age but scientists don't know where it is developed from. Research says that OCD is genetic or comes from a life event like a family member dying. Research also shows that 1 in 100 kids have OCD while 1 in 42 adults have it. In schools, teens who have OCD have trouble concentrating and most of the time are paranoid with something that is going on there. Teens that have OCD will be irritated by very few things by a desk out of place or dirt somewhere in the classroom. OCD is a major problem in high school because of this. Students get bad grades and/or fail classes because they are too focused on the object that is out of place and not on the subject they are learning in class.
How to Increase Awareness
Not many people are aware of OCD and not much people know what it is. OCD is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder which can have a toll on many kids, teens, and adults. It is much worse for teens because they have to go to high school and the stress high school students have plus OCD is a bad combination. Many teens in high school who have this might not be able to concentrate or pay attention to the material being learnt. They get distracted by many things like a deskout of place that they focus on instead of the teacher.
Things to Know About OCD
80% of people who have OCD have obsessive and compulsive disorders, while only 20% of people who have OCD only have obsessive or compulsive disorders. Only a few people know about the disorder but it affects over 1 million people all around the world.
